Structures of Kyiv PSP (turb. 253.5 MW, pump. 139 MW) on the Dniper River were constructed from 1963 to 1975. The first hydrounit was commissioned in 1970. Thus, Kyiv PSP became the first pumped storage plant in the Soviet Union.

From 1997 till 2002 the first stage of rehabilitation of the Dnieper Cascade of HPPs was completed; and in 2006 the second stage of rehabilitation started. The rehabilitation also included the rehabilitation of Kyiv PSP equipment.

Within 2nd stage of Rehabilitation HYDROTECHPROJECT Ltd. accomplished the following works:

  • Complex inspections of the current state of hydrotechnical structures of HPPs and PSPs operated by Ukrhydroenergo PJSC to rise the reliability and safety of their operation at design conditions taking into account contemporary requirements on reliability and safety of hydro schemes operation.
